Not another Ayodhya!!!

As it was in India, I still start my day with a cofee in front of Newspapers(News Web Sites). Just like any day I did that today too, and was shocked to see the following news. Hold on, its not the news of Inzamam and Younis forging a 300+ runs partnership, but it is the news released by Bharatiya Janata Party:

"Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vinay Katiyar on Wednesday claimed that the Taj Mahal in Agra was actually a Shiva temple built by Raja Jai Singh and was named 'Tejo Mai Mahal'. This fact finds mention in the book Badshahnama by Abdul Hamid Lahori, a close associate of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan," Katiyar said in Lucknow."

The moment I read it, the ugly communal violence following the Ayodhya Ram temple dispute engulfed me and sent shivers through my spine. I am wondering if India is still a secular country. Let the Gods be for enlighting humans, and not to turn them up against each other. Let there be just one Ayodhya in the Dark pages of Indian history.

Steve BUGner...

yeasterday's play (Ind-Pak 2nd test day3) was so great as Indians put up a brave fight and took command of the testmatch from the Pakis. But the Indian domination would have been complete but for the stunning game by one person. Surprisingly its neither an indian nor a pakistani but it was the umpire Steve BUGner. Sorry Mr. BUGner I am not going to call u 'buckner' anymore... The way u shamelessly ruled out Sachin is nothing but a disgrace to Elite Umpire panel. While u should be proud that u have officiated 100 test matches, why don't u think that U are 100 tests old and it is time to retire for the wellness of cricket. If u are not going to retire, then passionate cricket fans like me are gonna have u hurt retired....

But, keep in mind.... U cannot stop sachin from scoring record centuries.

பரட்டை! பேரை மாத்து!!!

சற்று முன் கிடைத்த/ படித்த செய்தி:
"திருமாவளவன் 'சந்திரமுகி' படத்தின் பெயரை மாற்றுமாறு கோரிக்கை"
அட என்னப்பா இது, சந்திரமுகி நல்ல அழகான தமிழ் பெயர் தானே என்று பார்த்தால் அது இந்தி பெயராம். (சந்திரன்= நிலா, முகி = முகம்).
இதை படித்த பின் யாரை குறை சொல்வது?

1) தமிழை வளர்க்கிறேன் பேர்வழி என்று கோமளித்தனம் செய்யும் கூட்டத்தையா?
2) அல்லது சந்திரமுகி பட பாடல் வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் இந்த விபரத்தை போட்டுடைத்த அப்படதின் பாடலாசிரியர் வாலியையா?

அந்த கடவுளுக்கே வெளிச்சம்...........ஆக மொத்தம் திரைப்பட உளகின் கூத்து தொடருது. இன்னும் கொஞ்ஞம் கிளர அடுத்த மாதம் கேப்டன் தனி கட்சி துவக்கப்போகிறார்........

Go Sania....Go..

Its was a pleasant surprise for me when I saw the news "Sania Mirza pulled off the biggest win of her fledgling career when she upset world number 7 and US Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, to move into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Open women tennis championship on Tuesday".

It was a surprise to me coz, I didn't place high hopes on her due to following reasons:

1) Budding star, that means high hopes will lead to disappointment.
2) She was struggling with her bruised knee. And she was even thinking about withdrawing from the event.
3) tournament after recovery from injury is always going to be tough for a rising star, especially when its against top ranked player...


Worse was the fact that who had the most terrible start to the match; lost the first game to love in 42 seconds, as the fourth-seeded Russian fired two aces, and fell behind 0-4 after suffering an ankle injury.

Then comes the 'Courage show' by Sania when the Pain killer started to take effect; Once Sania had banished her nerves she began to thump the ball down the line. The Russian had no answer to Sania's growing confidence.

After winning six straight games to take the first set Sania grew in confidence and forced a forehand error from Kuznetsova to break in the first game of the second set and went on to claim the match 6-4, 6-2.

I wish that she beats 28th ranked Jelena Jankovic in the quarter finals, but without high expectations.
