I was able to see some good changes proposed in cricket by the ICC committee. The impressive proposal among them are:
1) Tactical Substitution: The new teams will have 12 men (but only 11 can be on field at any time) providing the captain with an extra batsman/wicketkeeper/fielder/bowler according to the situation of the match. Say Ganguly (If he would be there??) can use Agarkar for the last 10 overs as he can dig in some toe crushers in the death overs or He can bring in murali karthik, to help anil and bajji, if the pitch gets slow and ball stops coming on to bat. Looks like cricket gets on par with other games like Soccer providing the tactical team composition decision with this rule.
2) The fielding team captain or the batsmen can appeal against the decision of the field umpire if the feel that the decision is not fair. This is a cool rule and can help in avoiding the sad ends to batsmen and wicket denied bowlers. Looks like Sachin will make the most out of Bug(c)knor with this rule.
These proposals are to be tested in Johnny Walker Super Series in Australia. The other rule that I was expecting was the yellow and red card like in soccer. That would provide a grip on Sledgers/racist players in the gentleman's games. Lets wait n see how far these rules add spice to the game.
Breaking the slumber, thanks 2020!
